Job Description

Job Summary:

The job holder is responsible for all transactions related to import/export and purchasing of all SKAFF and Les Galleries products; ensuring that the right products are delivered to the right location and at minimal cost.

Main functions and responsibilities:

1. Arrange shipments in the most economical manner,
2. Place PO (purchase order) locally and abroad; on the system of clients’ orders and new collections after being handled to the Administrative Assistant to insert data on the system ‘’in case of new reference creation’’.
3. Control all shipping documentation (freight & supplier invoices, packing list, transfers and purchase order) and report any discrepancies to the Operation Manager. 4. Book flights with shipping agents and give shipping instructions to our suppliers.
5. Request the loading list and the bill of lading from the forwarders and compare them to the suppliers’ invoices.
6. Contact the clearance to prepare the DO(delivery order) of product arrivals.
7. Compare actual freight vs. forecasted cost and report results to the Operation Manager.
8. Research and meet with freight companies to get better deals. 9. Update the staff (operation and sales team) on the status of their customer orders/purchases.
10. Negotiate with suppliers the improvement of the shipments’ delivery dates.
11. Negotiate prices, discounts of new collections and payment terms with suppliers. 12. Order books from suppliers on every new collection arrival. 13. Update & Control prices (cost & selling) and report any discrepancies to the Operation Manager. 14. Handle tariffs, shipping insurance and quotas 15. Consult with customs and clearance agents to ease passage of shipments through customs. 16. Perform miscellaneous tasks within the scope of work, as assigned by the direct manager.

1-2 years in Freight Logistics
Verbal & written fluency in English & Arabic Languages (French is a plus)
