Job Description

 

As a Chemist, you will conduct qualitative and quantitative studies on chemical compounds in order to ensure quality control or to generate new goods or information. In Addition, your responsibilities also include investigating the chemical composition of various materials, running quality control tests on ongoing research, and writing technical reports and papers on the specifications and results of tests, products, and procedures. The Chemist will conduct experiments on organic and inorganic compounds using a variety of tests and methodologies. Must have an analytical, detail-oriented, and rational thinking. You should be enthusiastic about expanding scientific knowledge and improving procedures and goods as well.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze chemical products to determine their composition.
  • Communicate with manufacturers.
  • Prepare test solutions, compounds, and reagents for conducting tests and advising and coordinating test procedures.
  • Identify problems in efficiency and performance and recommend modifications to methods as appropriate.
  • Document all testing results.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative experiments taking into account the volume and structure of ingredients.
  • Customize formulas and use different reagents to test chemical reactions.
  • Develop nonstandard tests for chemical products.
  • Refine chemical products to improve their quality.
  • Determine chemical and physical properties, compositions, structures, relationships, and reactions of organic and inorganic compounds.
  • Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods.
  • Document technical papers and reports, and prepare standards and specifications for processes, tests, and products.
  • Analyze and report on test results.
  • Generate reports of research and results.
  • Create and test products that comply with company safety guidelines.
  • Assist with shipping, receipt, and collection of samples

Requirements and skills

  • A Bachelor degree in Chemistry or other related fields such as Biochemistry, Environmental Chemistry, or Chemical Technology. Additional certification (Master’s degree or a PhD) is a plus
  • At least 1-year experience in laboratory work, experience in scientific research may be advantageous.
