Job Description
Main duties/responsibilities:
- Receive the purchase request from “Warehouse Keeper”
- Separate requested items per supplier
- Receive the purchase invoice from warehouse, check prices & compare with delivery note.
- Make orders for packaging supplies
- Agreeing on payment and delivery terms with suppliers
- Meet new suppliers
- Receive supplier’s notification for prices raise and take approval from “General Manager/Deputy GM” before resuming dealing with the same supplier.
- Take samples from new suppliers for testing
- Check the quality of newly demanded products before buying
- Take the approval of production department & general administration on the new items before assigning them as authorized products
- Prepare ahead stocks for high seasons and holidays
- Receive purchase orders from Al Baba Sweets external branches
- Review and drop pending orders on system
- Manage and assist yearly inventory control process
- Forecasting levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels
- Conducting research to determine the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
- Identifying potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships with them
- Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress, checking the quality of service provided
- Keeping contract files and using them as reference for the future
- Developing an organization’s purchasing strategy
Requirements:
Education and work experience:
- BA in business administration or relevant field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in related field.
Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient Arabic and English
- IT and numeracy skills
- Good communication and negotiation abilities
