Job Description
Receiving and Inspecting Inventory:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify their contents against purchase orders or shipping manifests.
- Inspect goods for damage, discrepancies, or quality issues and report any findings.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of received items.
- Inventory Storage and Organization:
- Safely and efficiently store inventory in designated locations within the warehouse or storage facility.
- Ensure proper labeling, categorization, and organization of goods.
- Rotate stock as needed to minimize waste and ensure older items are used first (FIFO/LIFO principles).
- Stock Replenishment:
- Monitor inventory levels and initiate reorders or replenishment requests as stock levels approach the minimum threshold.
- Maintain a well-organized and clean storage area.
- Order Picking and Packaging:
- Retrieve items from inventory as per customer orders or internal requisitions.
- Accurately pack and label items for shipping or delivery.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using computerized systems or manual methods.
- Track inventory turnover and update records accordingly.
- Generate regular reports on inventory status, trends, and discrepancies.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on inventory items to ensure they meet specified standards.
- Identify and report any damaged or expired items.
- Inventory Audits:
- Participate in routine and annual inventory audits to verify physical stock levels match recorded data.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Properly handle hazardous materials, if applicable, and follow safety regulations.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other team members, including purchasing, logistics, and customer service, to ensure smooth inventory flow.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors regarding inventory-related issues and needs.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness in stock management.
