SCOPE OF THE JOB:
We are looking for a highly skilled E-Commerce Category Specialist who will be responsible for running the local online shop by managing the sales, operations, and budget. He/ She carries out online marketing plans to boost the site tracks and maximize sales.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Budgeting:
- Evaluate sales performance per product and category to optimize ROI while identifying trends and insights to optimize sales performance
- Understand the customers of our various distribution channels and determine the best-selling strategy and logistical structure for each
- Drive and influence Digital Marketing to support category directives and strategies
- Develop and implement category strategy to achieve revenue and profitability goals
- Conduct pricing analysis looking at competitor and cross-retailer pricing activity to develop and influence competitive strategies for the team
- Partner with major external and internal vendor partners to ensure their brands are well-positioned to deliver against customer and brand expectations
Execution:
- Conduct assortment, promotional, cross-selling, and other relevant analyses for E-Commerce and Omni channel retailers, leveraging all relevant information
- Organize and maintain merchandising calendar for website home and landing pages, navigation, special initiatives, item image, copy strategy
- Ensure content is accurate and product merchandised correctly on the website
- Ensure stock levels are effectively managed and controlled by constantly analyzing sales and inventory reports in order to maximize sales and meet stock performance objectives for the online shop.
- Develop and implement multi-channel (through various platforms) action plans for the online shop to ensure alignment in the brand experience between the online and physical shops (Including Click & Collect, returns, inquiries, and stocks. etc....).
- Stay informed and up-to-date with the competitive scene in the local and regional market to identify threats and opportunities related to the successful performance of the online shop.
- Create product/collection listings on the e-commerce platform based on requests from Brand Managers.
Reporting & forecasting:
- Determine and define metrics for calculating ROI that are benchmarked against the business goals and industry standards
- Run daily/weekly/monthly reports related to sales and inventory
- Calculate ROI for each program and make recommendations based on results to increase sales, opt-ins, Average Order Size (AOS), Average Unit Sales (AUS), and repeat purchases
- Develop deep data analysis to provide insights and recommendations based on customer data (Promotion Analytics/Insights/Recommendations, Assortment Recommendations & Online Catalog Management, reporting on sales trends and deriving Insights/ Recommendations for segment trends, overall business observations).
Leadership & Managerial:
- Contribute to the development and grow the team’s expertise as part of career development and succession planning
- Delegate tasks effectively to the team and ensure that they have the needed skills to succeed in order to have an effective and efficient flow of activities
- Generate creative and effective ideas for marketing, such as content for our digital/E-commerce platform, sales campaigns, and more
- Collaborate across multiple departments (sales, finance, supply chain, etc.) to communicate details of new products
- Identify and codify new analyses relevant to driving E-Commerce traffic, conversion, and basket size
- Train, motivate, and evaluate his/her team to ensure that the department has the necessary skill base, is motivated, and is enabled to maximize their potential and contribution to the company.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: At least 3 to 4 years of experience in the E-Commerce industry.
- Linguistic Skills: Advanced in written & spoken English and Arabic, French is a plus.
- Computer Skills: Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
