SCOPE OF THE JOB
The Junior Procurement Officer is responsible for handling the procurement process of non - merchandise commodities and services for the operation based on best practice procedures stipulated by the company’s policies and procedures. He/she will also be responsible for conducting his/her tasks with integrity while emphasizing on risk control, cost reduction, quality improvement, and optimization of the procurement processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Procurement Administration:
- Assist in identifying and evaluating potential suppliers to ensure they meet quality, pricing and delivery standards.
- Conduct continuous research to locate new potential suppliers and stay abreast of new products and market trends.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and engage in regular communication to address any issues or concerns.
- Assist in setting procurement budgets to prevent overspending and collaborate with the Accounting Dept. to ensure alignment with overall financial objectives.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through efficient purchasing, practices & supplier negotiations.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies & procedures.
- Assist in conducting vendor audits & assessments to ensure adherence to contractual agreements.
- Process purchase orders and ensure that they are aligned with organizational needs and budgets.
- Handle inventory management of procurement activities, ensuring that stock levels are monitored and maintained regularly.
Reports:
- Maintain accurate procurement records and reports of all transactions, including purchase orders, supplier agreements, and receipts/documentation.
- Provide regular updates to the Manager on procurement performance, budget adherence, and supplier performance.
- Analyze inventory data & reports to identify trends, seasonal demands & potential shortages.
- Perform other duties that are aligned & related to the job scope.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Equivalent Degree.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience in similar field, with a strong understanding of Procurement systems & procedures.
- Linguistic Skills: Advanced in written & spoken English, French is a plus.
- Computer Skills: Advanced/ Extensive knowledge in MS Office, “MACROS” & all Windows formulas and applications.
