Position Overview: As a Cashier at our furniture store, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring smooth financial transactions. You will be responsible for processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash and electronic payments, and maintaining a clean and organized cashier area. Your friendly and professional demeanor will contribute to creating a positive shopping experience for our customers.

• Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly, approachable atmosphere. Assist customers with locating products, answering questions, and resolving any concerns or complaints related to payment transactions.
• Cash Handling: Accurately process sales transactions, ensuring all items are scanned or manually entered into the system. Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and electronic transactions following established procedures. Count cash at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure accurate totals.
• POS System Operation: Utilize the point-of-sale (POS) system to process transactions, generate receipts, and apply discounts or promotions as applicable. Familiarize yourself with product codes, prices, and other relevant information to facilitate smooth and efficient transactions.
• Financial Accountability: Maintain accountability for cash and other payment methods, ensuring accuracy and security at all times. Reconcile daily sales with cash and credit card receipts, and report any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate supervisor.
• Product Knowledge: Develop a basic understanding of the furniture store's products and services to assist customers with inquiries and provide accurate information about available merchandise, pricing, and features.
• Inventory Support: Collaborate with the sales team to monitor inventory levels and product availability. Communicate with the appropriate personnel when stock replenishment is needed or when products need to be returned or exchanged.
• Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a neat and orderly cashier area, ensuring it is free from clutter and well-stocked with necessary supplies such as shopping bags, receipts, and cash drawer. Keep the POS system and surrounding area clean and organized.
